#ICan Family Camp

31st May 2024

This May, a group of LimbPower Juniors and their families are set to embark on a transformative journey to the Brecon Beacons, marking the annual #ICan Family Camp. Instead of pitching traditional tents, families will be staying at what has been dubbed ‘The LimbPower House’ by one young visitor.

The #ICan Family Camp addresses the unique challenges faced by children and young individuals with limb loss or limb differences, providing signposts to support them and their families throughout their life-long rehabilitation journey. #ICan Family Camp goes beyond the typical residential experience; it offers a comprehensive support system with a prosthetist, physiotherapist, and a psychotherapist available to assist in the holistic well-being of every participant. From the pivotal moments of starting school to navigating friendships and secondary school, the camp provides a nurturing environment for the entire family to engage in exercise, laughter, and bonding.

Recognising the barriers these children face, LimbPower ensures inclusivity, embracing everyone, irrespective of limb differences. Beyond exciting activities like canoeing, high ropes, zip wires, and climbing, #ICan Family Camp becomes a life changing trip. For families seeking support, friendship, and lots of fun, #ICan Family Camp is a must for the diary!
