Are you a new amputee or have recently become limb impaired?
If yes, welcome, you have come to the right place.
LimbPower is a national charity and a National Disability Sports Organisation that supports amputees, individuals with limb difference, and their families to bridge the gap between hospital rehabilitation and community and school engagement. LimbPower has spent the last 15 years creating programmes to support your physical, social, and psychological well-being through your life-long rehabilitation journey.
Community members find us at different entry points on their rehabilitation journey, so you may need to scroll down to find the information that is relevant to you and where you are within your personal rehabilitation journey.
Our programmes and pathways are designed to help you rebuild your fitness and mobility and to support your engagement in community activity. Whether you are looking for physical activity cards, online exercise classes, in-person workshops, or multisport events, we have something for everyone.
Physical Activty Cards and Infographics
LimbPower has created a series of Physical Activity cards and infographics to support your home exercise programme in the early stages of rehabilitation. These resources are designed to help you improve your strength, balance, flexibility, and coordination. You can find these on our website in the resources section https://www.limbpower.com/resources or you can email our administrator at info@limbpower.com to post you a pack of cards. We have packs for adults and children, so make sure you request the right pack.
Advocacy
LimbPower is not only a provider of physical activity and sport programmes, but also an advocate for amputees and individuals with limb difference. We offer support and representation on issues such as access to prosthetics, funding for sports equipment, and disability rights. We also work with other organisations and stakeholders to raise awareness and promote inclusion of people with limb loss and limb difference. If you need any advice or assistance, please contact us at info@limbpower.com.
Educational Resources
LimbPower has developed a range of educational resources to help you and your family cope with the challenges and opportunities of living with limb loss or limb difference. These include guides such as “Making the Most of Your Limb Centre Visit”, “Holiday Toolkit”, “Summer Guide” and “Winter Guide” for adults https://www.limbpower.com/resources/publications and equivalent infographics for children https://www.limbpower.com/resources/childrens-resources. These resources cover topics such as travel, clothing, hygiene, nutrition, and more. You can download these resources from our website or request a printed copy by emailing info@limbpower.com.

BMI Calculator
LimbPower has developed an amputee-specific BMI calculator to help you monitor your weight and health status. BMI stands for Body Mass Index and is a measure of body fat based on height and weight. However, most BMI calculators do not take into account the weight of a missing limb, which can result in inaccurate and misleading results for amputees. Our BMI calculator uses a formula that adjusts for the weight of a missing limb, giving you a more realistic and reliable BMI score. You can use our BMI calculator on our website
