Learning to Cycle Blog 4

I was gaining confidence Sharron had become a very valued and loved friend to both myself and my daughters, I felt confident to ask if she felt I could mange a bike outside , it was a 'yes' with no hesitation . Terry remained dubious but liked the idea of having a bike himself. We went shopping and came away with nothing for a few times, lots of leaflets, but no bike. I mentioned to Moose about the possibility of riding a bike outside again, he was positive about the theory but suggested I look at a different prosthesis, the echelon VT. This foot has settings that make the ankle slightly moveable and a shock absorber, in clinic it felt lovely. This leg had real potential for me but having had a rigid ankle for so long the moveable part gave me that horrid feeling of motion sickness, I felt very green for a while, at times I just had to think of putting the leg on to feel horribly nauseous. This was a miserable time for me, I didn't seem able to get on top of that feeling. I had to take a do or die approach in the end and just keep it on. The nausea passed!
